-
Mathematics
-
English / Reading
-
Writing
-
Thinking Skills
These subjects form the key learning areas for all primary students and are the main course offered Mr Paul's Tutoring.
Maths: In our comprehensive Year 4 curriculum, students embark on an enriching mathematical journey covering a spectrum of topics. From exploring advanced aspects of geometry and measurement to delving into topics such as fractions, percentages, decimals, and geometry (area, perimeter and angles), our course ensures a well-rounded understanding of mathematical concepts. Students actively engage in problem-solving exercises, promoting independent thinking and application of learned skills. Our dedicated teachers guide students through interactive lessons, fostering a strong mathematical foundation for their academic growth.
English lessons cover reading comprehension in all forms which include essay writing, vocabulary, and spelling exercises which are given every week. Developing proficiency in reading is a key focus for our students. In our curriculum, students cultivate the ability to read and comprehend various text types, including narratives, recounts, and explanatory texts. Through engaging exercises, students enhance their skills in understanding and interpreting these written forms, laying a solid foundation for effective communication and comprehension.
Writing: Our writing lessons are designed to empower students with effective communication skills. Throughout the course, students explore various genres, including narrative, persuasive, and informational writing. Emphasizing creativity and structure, students learn to express their thoughts cohesively and develop their unique writing style. The lessons include practical exercises and constructive feedback, fostering a supportive environment for honing writing skills and fostering a love for self-expression through words.
Thinking Skills: Our Thinking Skills curriculum for students is designed to cultivate critical and creative thinking abilities. Through a variety of engaging activities and exercises, students develop problem-solving techniques, analytical reasoning, and decision-making skills. The curriculum encourages students to think independently and approach challenges with a strategic mindset. We focus on fostering curiosity, adaptability, and effective communication, equipping students with the cognitive tools necessary for success in academics and beyond.
