Year 9 SEM Course
COURSE DESCRIPTION
Transition to Stage 5: The Year 9 students will begin Stage 5, which will introduce them to advanced topics and new performance benchmarks.
Complexity in Learning: Previously acquired knowledge is expanded and utilised in more sophisticated contexts.
Deepening of Skills: As students encounter fresh subjects in Year 9, the emphasis is placed on reinforcing and mastering existing skills.
Increased Homework Responsibility: Progressing through high school, students are expected to take greater ownership of their learning. This includes more substantial research assignments in subjects such as English and History, where they are encouraged to independently source information.
NAPLAN Assessments: Year 9 marks the final round of NAPLAN testing, a crucial benchmarking tool that ensures students possess the literacy and numeracy skills necessary for the Higher School Certificate (HSC). Understanding and improving these foundational skills at this stage is vital for academic success.
